Meet Evens. Originally from Phalaborwa in Limpopo, his journey with Mila started when they were still known as Lebone Services back in 2005, as a cleaner on a mining site.

14 years later, through hard work and determination, he is now the Operations Manager of Mila Cleaning Services.

His career path started in 1996 as a young grade 12 student about to write exams, when his father sadly passed away. His father had been working in the cleaning industry at that time and to keep the household going, Evens took up employ at his fathers’ company for nightshift and attended school in the day.

These humble beginnings and hard work paved the way for a career of promotion and growth as he went from being a cleaner to a site supervisor, to site manager and now his current role.

Evens is happily married with 4 beautiful children – he loves spending time with his family on weekends and enjoys watching and supporting his football team, Kaizer Chiefs. He has learnt so much on the job and is grateful for the training opportunities Mila provides. He has done admin training as well as project management and uses both new skills in his everyday work.

Evens is thankful for the open relationship he shares with the management team. According to him, accountability is important in Mila and he is grateful for everything he has learnt from Charlotte, Annemarie, and Hans. In 5 years, he would like to see himself as the owner of his own business.
